Your first long distance trip had arrived. Boofy arrived at 5:30am to come and drive us to the airport so we didn't have to take you on the train during peak hour in the middle of winter with all the sickos who still go to the city for work. The trip down went well. You and Daddy fell asleep in the back but I got to spend time with my daddy! :-)
We got all checked in and through security without a hitch and had left ourselves heaps of time so we didnt have to rush with it being our first trip with you. We went and got a BOOST juice and some banana bread. You love Banana Bread. Nom Nom.
Aunty Bek and Aunty Bree were coming down on the trip too. They caught the train and tried to make us think they were going to miss the flight. How exciting.. your first plane ride and two people who love you heaps came for the trip too!! They wanted to make mean comments about oh that annoying baby on the plane jokingly but they didnt have the opportunity because you fell asleep while i was feeding you on the way up. :-) You loved the laminated safety guide you played with that for the rest of the way down.
Sneaking in a quick feed so your ear didnt hurt from the pressure.
We got in trouble from the lady behind us for taking a pic on the tar mat. lol. So windy and im blinking but hey we got "a" shot haha
While we waited for all our luggage and pram to come through Aunty Bree put you on her rolling hand luggage bag and took you for a spin. Was funny to see your face. We caught a taxi into the city to our hotel and got settled. The whole reason we went to Melbourne was because your dad got tickets to go to PAX. Its a gaming expo down there. He was meeting Matt Beacham and Luke Robinson down there too. Thats why Bree and Bek came with us to keep us company. The first day we just went for a walk and explored. We went to a really nice park and took lots of pics of the 4 of us. It was soooo windy and cold and the next minute if we walked the opposite direction we were stripping off layers. Weird!!
Melbourne Central Shops
She is crazy!! But you know that already :P
First time on the tram :-)
The first night we were there Dad was still at PAX and the girls got tickets to go to see the production of KING KONG on stage. So it was just you and me. I got you to bed and i snuggled into bed to watch a movie. Half way through i heard these horrendous alarms go off. You slept through about 5 min off them and then they woke you up. I was hoping they would stop but they kept going so i grabbed you and ran. I knew it was the fire alarm. We were on the 7th floor and i didn't want to get into a lift in case there was actually a fire and we got stuck in there. I ran down all those stairs with you and called dad. He was on level 10 with the boys and came down to meet us. The people across from us in the hall burnt toast or something in their room and that's what set it all off. I was sooooo annoyed and soooo flustered. Being away from home is one thing and being on my own and not knowing what was going on with a little baby was more overwhelming that i thought it would be. I ended up having to feed you again because you were all wound up too.
The next day was raining. Note to self : Baby, pram, rain, trams are not a great mix. Especially when you want a feed and everyone else is on a mission. The girls all went to see "The Block" a tv show thats on at the moment teams renovate places and then auction them off in the end. So we stayed on the tram to go find the Clothing Outlets. Two older ladies helped me get you and the pram off the tram. It was POURING!!!! I had about had enough but i found a feeding room and you were nice and dry in the pram and cover we had. The girls ended up being at the right outlets and apparently we were told the wrong ones so i had to get you and i into a taxi to go and meet everyone else. The man didn't speak very good English and i was trying to get you into the taxi so i could dissemble the pram and all while i was dripping wet with the rain. We met up with the girls which made me feel more at ease. After a crazy crazy day - you took it all in your stride lol. Mummy and the girls went for dinner and a movie. Girls night out was very much needed. Some drinks, yummy food and a hilarious movie with Sandra Bullock called "The Heat". I soo needed a good laugh.
Daddy stayed with us on Sunday and we went for a great walk and saw more of the city we hadn't been able to yet. We saw Flinders Station, the Yarra River which we walked up and down and it was just so nice being back to the 3 of us and having time to experience a little bit of Melbourne as a family :-)
We had dinner with Matt and Luke and then had a quiet night in the hotel so you could get a good nights sleep.
Eating at the Pancake Parlour
Daddy loved this Snag Stand :-) kind of made us feel like we were back in NYC a little bit :-)
I am madly in love of you two
I hope and pray you meet someone who loves you like I love your dad.
We checked out had brekky and got a taxi into the airport. We checked in got through security again and just had some family time playing on the ground near the gates. We always said travelling with a baby would be bad if there was an explosion.. a few minutes later i heard a big noise come out of you then i got the smell. I thought OH GOOD its before we get on the plane. Lets just say that i am so glad we took all your stuff as our carry on luggage becasue we had to completely change your clothes nappy everything!!! We have not had a poo explosion like that since you were on solids.. our lucky day!!! hahaha. So we had to quickly change you and get on the plane. THANK GOD it didnt happen on the plane. lol.
Anyways here are some pics from our time in Melbourne.
