Your First Easter - Our First Family Holiday (Wollongong)

For the 4 day Easter long weekend we decided to do a trip to Wollongong and stay with Kiala and Trav Powell. We have been wanting to get down there and see them since they moved out from the states and what better time than for them to meet you and for us to have our first family holiday :-)

We woke up on the Friday morning. We knew that it was going to be the only Easter we could get away with the Easter Bunny coming early to our house so we didn't have to take your Easter basket with us.

We got on the road at 9:30am and we got down there just before midday which was really good timing. We thought we would have terrible traffic being the long weekend. We only stopped once and that was at Sublime Point Lookout. Was very pretty. You did do well for your first few hour trip in the car. You just slept them kicked your toys for the other part of the trip.

When we got there, got all your things sorted in your room and you were fed we went down to the lighthouse walk near the CBD. It was such a pretty walk. You got to see your first lighthouse too. It was really cold so dad put you in his jumper and mum zipped you up. It actually worked so well you fell asleep in there and had a good ol nap.

On Saturday we went to the beach there. This was your first time with us putting you in the water. It was a tiny bit cold for you but you seemed to love it too. Your a crazy lil munchkin. After you went in we sat up on the beach and watched everyone else in the water. Daddy went body boarding. It was such a nice day and you fell asleep on the sand. I think the waves put you to sleep :-)

We then went up to Mt Keira lookout. Trav is in a running group and they had a big run so we met up with him afterwards.

Kiala and your Dad (being the Americans) were talking about their family traditions for Easter. We didn't really have any growing up and i'm really keen to start some run traditions for the holidays with you and when you have brothers/sisters?!? Kiala's mum had sent out the stuff to dye eggs and decorate them for Easter. So when you went to bed we did that on Saturday night. It was so much fun and I cant wait til your older and we can do it with you.

The next morning when we went out for brekky we realised the Easter Bunny had found us and arrived here in Wollongong. The Easter Bunny even left you a toy bunny, a little bunny winter onsie outfit and some yummy Easter Eggs for mum and dad. We had chocolate hot cross buns for brekky. hmmm yummmm!!!

I made an egg that said Eamon 2013 on it :-) I dont think you were as impressed when you realised you were not allowed to eat it.

You show things you love them now by putting them in your mouth :P so Bunny went straight in.

I believe though with all the things we did in 2 days there... this was your favourite part of it all....

We went to celebrate your Great Grandmas (Phyllis Brown - Boofs Mum) 93rd Birthday with her.
We went and got her some flowers and a cake and went around so she could see you and also so we could eat some yummy caramel mudcake with her. All she wanted in life was to see our kids and I'm so grateful that she was still alive to see you since you have been born :-)

Aunty Bree likes to dress you up. She is WELL known for her dress up collection for every day of the year. She is crazy but you will learn this as you grow up. Thats why Mum and her get along so well. :-) She used to have Fridays off and we used to go for walks to catch up. She so loves you. I think you are so calm with her more than others cos you heard her voice so much when you were in the womb and even now. If mum or dad doesnt have you you seem to always go to sleep and drool on her.

You had your first Valentines Day. We had a dinner for the young adults group at House of Praise. You and Ilia were each others dates. :-) We had it at SoulCake in Ettalong right near the big Mantra Resort. Ilias grandparents own it and they went to so much trouble. We all got dressed up and had a fun night. You got to wear your second suit onesie we got you and you looked very studdly. :-)

You rolled for the first time this month. (26.2.13) You have been practising alot. Getting very determined pulling on things to try and help you roll over. We kept getting excited and then you would get all frustrated and go from your side back to your back. I was at Nanna and Boofs house helping Nanna pack up some rooms for when they sell their house and you were laying on a mat in the front room. I saw you trying to do it again and i just had a feeling you were going to roll completely over. I quickly got my phone so i could film just in case for daddy. YOU DID IT!!!! You were very proud of yourself afterwards. :-) I was too. I was so glad i got it on film for dad. You did it that night for dad too and then just decided "Well i've conquered that ability who needs to do it again and then didn't do it for weeks. :-P

Smelling the roses with Nanna at Ma's house. See those doors just to the right thats where we lived for the first year and a half of our marriage pretty much :-)

Mum and Dad have been on a health kick and doing alot of exercise. Dad needed to get some compressed air from Officeworks and we decided to walk after work one day with you there. Come to realise its 7km roundtrip. We had fun though and it felt great. You were needing a feed so dad went and ran with you in your pram over all the tree roots and you LOVED it. You were giggling like crazy. Love family moments like this :) When dad gets home from work he puts you next to him on the floor and he will do his sit ups etc then use you for him arm curls and lifts. I think your getting used to it and wait for it everyday now. As soon as he lays down on the ground you get excited and giggle while he lifts you. Mum usually cooks dinner at this time and there is nothing sweeter than hearing you and dad playing together.

We went to Erina Fair one Saturday and when we went to leave we ran over a beer bottle. Someone had put it in front of our back tyre so we didn't see it. As soon as we had rolled over it I knew that the tyre would have blown. We had to wait for NRMA to come and help us because we couldn't get the bolt off the tyre to get it off so we got all ready and he came and changed it. When he left i said to daddy that i could still hear a hissing sound from the same area. Our spare had a nail in it. So we quickly but safely drove home and we ended up needing to get 4 new tyres. The back ones were fine and the front needed changing so that was fun :-s. You were so good while this all happened. The NRMA guy thought you were so cute i think he got distracted.

Here are some random pics of the month that was 3-4 months old.

We had to start getting you used to sleeping with your arms out this month since you rolled. We were worried about you rolling in your sleep and not being able to use your arms to lift yourself up.
